Tips for Choosing the Best Toddler Chemistry Set

Tips for Choosing the Best Toddler Chemistry SetAs a parent you probably have already had the pleasure of using a toddler chemistry set for a while. But, how do you know that it is good enough to keep up with the science curriculum? Are you relying on old chemical stuff that has no scientific basis? Don't let your child be left behind on a valuable and proven learning resource - use one of these useful tips on how to choose the best toddler chemistry set.* Don't be fooled by the price - Try to get yourself a few of the high quality brands that are known for being priced relatively low. You'll get the feel of the quality you are paying for and how long it will last. This is an investment that your kid can grow into later. So, be sure to use a brand that is top notch.* Get used to using a lot of chemicals - If you do get a standard set, the starter kits for toddler chemistry will usually come with a couple of bottles of the most basic chemical ingredients you need to begin your chemist ry lesson. That's enough to get started. But, as your child grows and gets curious about the world around him or her, you should add more chemicals, as needed.* Use realistic chemicals - Chemical science is not an exact science, so don't expect it to be easy to predict what the results of experimenting with chemicals will be. Instead, try to find common chemicals that your child will use and will be able to replicate. This means using everyday ingredients for at least some of their experiments.* Use clear, unobstructed containers - Chemistry sets should be held in places where children can view them and use them easily. Not only is it easy to see what is going on, but it also helps create a calm environment. If you are holding your toddler chemistry set near a window, it makes it easier for them to drop it down a storm if they want to mess it up. In addition, it is also important to use a glass or plastic container.* Test liquids and solvents - Your toddler needs to have a good unde rstanding of the difference between solid and liquid. There are plenty of solid and liquids available in every store that you can buy. However, it is important to teach your child the difference between the two. If your child is completely not following the directions, call the store before buying the wrong product.* Clean up spills quickly - Once your child starts experimenting with liquids and solvents, you will probably find that they leave spills all over the place. Having a little bucket to clean up any messes that they make is important. This will help ensure that your child does not accidentally spill a dangerous chemical onto your hands. As you can see, using a toddler chemistry set to help teach your child about the world around him or her will be something that you will really enjoy. It is something that your child will love and will know why you purchased it. You don't have to worry about it breaking soon because it is built tough, making it good for years to come.

Case Study How this unique international school finds 80% of their native English-speaking teachers with Teach Away

Case Study How this unique international school finds 80% of their native English-speaking teachers with Teach Away Background The International Trilingual School of Warsaw first opened its doors to two students 10 years ago and today serves over 450 students. As the only trilingual school in Poland, and one of the rare trilingual schools in Europe, spaces at the school are in high demand. Rapid growth comes with challenges for any organization, but for a school as unique as this, the challenges are magnified. Such a unique school requires equally unique teachers and the school's founder, Anna, takes her recruitment very seriously. She recruits almost all of her staff herself and because the school offers instruction in five languages (English, French, Spanish, Polish and Chinese), she spends about five times more time on recruitment than other international schools. Finding and attracting teachers with the right skill sets was critical to the success of the school and, for Anna, was a constant challenge. The Challenge The teacher profile that Anna was looking for was unlike that of a typical international school. First, excellent language skills were a must. Good English was essential, and she needed native language instructors for the school’s five languages of instruction. She also needed licensed teachers who, with five different curricula in operation, could be highly flexible and adaptable. The school’s location contributed an additional recruitment challenge. Without the international prestige of other European cities, many teachers were reluctant to move to Warsaw, and the city’s small expat community made local recruitment impossible. High taxes in Europe and the school’s lower tuition fees also meant they couldn’t compete with high international school salaries in other parts of the world. In her previous recruitment efforts, Anna struggled to find the right candidates through various ESL and domestic teacher recruitment sites. Either the candidates didn't match her criteria (as they were ESL teachers rather than licensed teachers), or if they were qualified, they weren't interested in relocating to teach abroad. The school’s location and compensation quickly ruled out candidates motivated by money or an expat lifestyle. Anna needed teachers who were motivated to become part of the school’s community out of curiosity about nurturing trilingual students and shared enthusiasm for her multicultural vision. Our Solution Teach Away’s annual subscription proved to be the long-term solution Anna needed. After finding us through an online search three years ago, Anna was pleasantly surprised when she posted her first job ad on Teach Away. She received lots of responses from certified, native English-speaking teachers who were interested in relocating overseas â€" exactly who she was looking for. “What attracted me to Teach Away was that they worked with a large variety of clients. As we are a small school, they give us the ability to attract candidates who consider very different positions â€" not only candidates looking to make a certain amount of money or work in a certain international system.” She liked her initial experience so much that she upgraded to an annual subscription, giving her access to unlimited job posts on our platform all year round, for a set fee. This means Anna can take her time finding candidates that are a perfect match for the school, and feel confident that her job ads will get in front of a network of teachers who meet the profile she’s looking to hire. The Impact Since they started working with us, the International Trilingual School of Warsaw has filled 80% of their English teaching roles through Teach Away. Using our platform gives Anna peace of mind that she’ll get plenty of good candidates for each job posting, giving her the autonomy to make the right choice for her school at her own pace. So far, she’s found a teacher that’s the right fit every time she’s posted a job with us; in fact, 35% of the school’s current teaching staff were hired through Teach Away. “Through Teach Away I get a variety of candidates, enough candidates to meet my needs, and peace of mind that I can find the candidates I need for the upcoming school year.” Once Anna finds something that works, she sticks with it. The International Trilingual School of Warsaw plans to keep using Teach Away’s platform to hire the right candidates as they grow in the future. Hire like the International Trilingual School of Warsaw We know that hiring teachers is hard, and as the world’s most trusted resource for international educators, we aim to make it easier. Chemistry Definition - A Basic Look at the Concept

Chemistry Definition - A Basic Look at the ConceptIn chemistry there is a Malleable Chemistry Definition. There are a lot of things that go into the definition, but first, let's take a look at what this definition entails. The term malleable chemistry has many connotations, but it all means a little bit different. To be malleable means something is being able to be shaped into something else. This can also mean there is a great deal of flexibility, which can be good for engineering. So, in engineering, the components are like 'muscles' that can be stretched, molded, and manipulated. So, the rubber bands for my finger are malleable, they can be molded to make a lot of different shapes (many of which I could not even dream of), and can have different properties from one shape to another.A rubber band is malleable, flexible, and has properties that change in a random fashion with shape and use. In chemistry, the definition of malleability would be the ability to get things to do what we want them to do without any direct manipulation. Also, malleability is a quality that relates to all of chemistry, because it is not a property that you are born with.In physics, malleability means you can cause a system to behave in a certain way. This is not a quality you are born with, but if you change how the system works in some way, you can change the behavior of the system, or even the behavior of particles within the system. It's really easy to understand this concept in chemistry, too, so let's move on to the malleable chemistry definition. For a chemistry definition, we need to have some specific qualities, or characteristics, and the first is that we need to explain the physical world as being 'formless.' That means we cannot describe physical objects with a 'mathematical' language, as we know that even the tiniest objects could be described in mathematical terms. A 'formless' world would have nothing to hold onto, and so we need to define malleability as 'the ability to change with change,' which leads us to think of rubber bands and other rigid materials. So, we have discussed some of the definitions and concepts of chemistry. Now let's discuss what the definition of malleability has to do with chemistry. In chemistry, malleability is a great way to understand how things relate to each other, and it is a concept that is related to the physical world, in that it is about things that can be manipulated.A chemistry definition provides a good framework to understand a bit more about malleability. We have seen what malleability means in physics, but what does it mean in chemistry? See you on the next page!

(Source: Hermann)Violin teachers were the first to start arguing about which one’s the best (new learning methods, new pieces, better exercises, etc.).  There are a lot of music professionals who write these books as opposed to apps which might be developed by somebody with no experience with the violin.  Something to keep in mind. While apps (on iPhone or Android) interact with musicians, which is really beneficial in the learning process, books boast better content and a more serious approach and can still be useful once you've become an intermediate or advanced player. They are still one of the best ways for learning the violin on your own. With these books, you don’t need to worry about the battery running out or your connection dropping.A book can be read, discovered, and then passed on. The pages are bigger than a smartphone screen and this can be useful for learning, especially when also holding a violin. In some cases, the methods can replace a music teacher. This is very useful for musicians who are teaching themselves. Some people make the mistake of letting Facebook be the only book they ever open.Where Can You Buy the Best Violin Books?Everyone knows how to buy a book. But where can you find the rare gem for learning the violin in a simple and effective way?Should you buy online or go to a real shop? There’s one big disadvantage to buying violin books online: you can’t flick through the pages.  It’s important to see how the book is structured, whether or not it catches your eye, or whether it’s something you know would end up collecting dust. You can’t really do this when you just see a preview of its cover. Some sites do let you see a few of the pages. This depends on the site and the book, though. You should make use of this function if you can. However, we’d still recommend heading along to a specialised music store. You’ll be sure if you’re buying the right book for learning to play the violin. You can take online violin lessons to practice more. You can buy sheet music from specialist music stores. (Source: Stevepb)Furthermore, you can benefit from the advice of the sales assistants. As violin players or musicians themselves, they can help you find the best books and steer you towards books that are appropriate for your level.Sales assistants are probably better at giving you advice than the strangers on the internet leaving reviews of the books. They’ll not be able to tell you whether or not the book is suitable for your level. You can also talk to the sales assistants for advice on playing the violin. Customers can build up trust with their regular sales assistant, after all.  They can act as a point of contact within the store if you’re learning to play the violin and need some help.  This can help you keep up with your violin lessons and no t give up. Additionally, these stores often sell violin sheet music, too. Depending on your age when learning the violin, you might prefer different types of books - with more illustrations, or more technical terms. When you first start out, you’ll need books with chapters covering:The parts of a violinTuning your violinAdopting the right postureHolding the bowHand positioningFinger placementThese chapters might even come with a few lessons on music theory.  However, if you want to learn music theory, I’d recommend getting a book dedicated to it.If you want to learn music theory, you should buy a book on it. (Source: MIH83)Learning to read sheet music can be tough and requires a lot practise as well as a good knowledge of music theory. A few pages in a violin book probably won’t be enough.  In any case, in order to choose the right book, you should ask for advice.Be it from a specialised sales assistant or the reviews left on an online store’s product page.Keep a few things in mind:The book needs to balanced. Check how the pages are arranged. You’ll need a good balance between illustrations, diagrams, pictures, and text. The book needs to contain exercises. Training exercises are essential for any budding violinist. If you’re teaching yourself, it’s important that the book you buy has a series of exercises for you to do.Does it have a CD? While not necessarily essential, a CD can help you train your ear and hear how things are supposed to sound before playing them.Furthermore, it might be worthwhile investing in a book with a few classical pieces such as:Ludwig Van Beethoven’s 5th SymphonyBeethoven’s Für EliseAntonio Vivaldi’s Four SeasonsFréderic Chopin’s Funeral MarchWolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Magic FluteMaurice Ravel’s BoléroPiotr Ilitch Tchaïkovski’s Swan LakeThese are great ways to improve. You should also check out the music of the se famous violinists for inspiration. While their pieces may be beyond your skill level, just listening to them should inspire you to pick up the violin and start performing, even if it is just “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”.NameBornDiedAntonio Vivaldi16781741Johann Sebastian Bach16851750Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart17561791Niccolò Paganini17821840Pablo de Sarasate18441908Jascha Heifetz19011987David Oïstrakh19081974Yehudi Menuhin19161999Isaac Stern19202001Are these Methods enough for Learning to Play the Violin? These approaches to learning to play the violin will never replace a violin lesson or the sage advice of quality violin tuition.  However, they are a good alternative for those who are learning the instrument on their own.In fact, while online violin tutorials  are great for starting out, they won’t cut it if you want to progress past a certain level. Neither will smartphone apps.  On the other hand, you can still learn to play the violin with books and a whole heap of mot ivation. Books will act as your teacher and guide you towards becoming a virtuoso.  However, you’ll need several books to even come close to this level.Once you reach a certain level, some books and pieces just won’t cut it and you’ll need to invest in more books.  The rest is up to you. There's only so much you can learn from apps. In fact, you probably should read this book in its entirety before your first lesson so that you know how:The different parts of a violinHow to hold the violinBowing techniquesHow to clean the violin stringsIt also has the benefit of coming with a CD so you can hear what you’re supposed to be doing as well as read it.
